Welcome to the ZumoForums!

If you are reading this...then you are now looking at the new "face" on the ZumoForums. Hopefully this website style forum will allow us to provide information and articles in an organized manner. Adding the portal will also allow a few more "bells and whistles" for members of the ZumoForums. Unfortunately I won't be able to include them all immediately, but over the course of several months, you should see more features added to the site.

We hope to have "How to" articles. PDF Files, maybe even some downloads at some point. We have the ablility to add photos to articles and even sound and/or video. We may (with member's permission) use a forum post for an article, some of you are very good at explaining things (much better than I). So I am hopeful everyone will benefit from this...plus it is different and change is good sometimes.

If you still prefer to ONLY view the forums, you can always bookmark the FORUM LINK and go directly to the forums.

So sit back and enjoy the new look, explore the site and make suggestions (after we have used it for awhile).

Guidelines for Posting Products on the ZumoForums

There will be NO direct advertising on the ZumoForums website other than the Member Product page. We will make no OFFICIAL endorsement for any product or commercial business.

In order to be listed on the Members Product page, they must have AT LEAST 25 SUBSTANTATIVE posts on the ZumoForums website.

Commercial businesses may not post any DIRECT ads in their posts unless they are SPECIFICALLY answering a question from an ORIGINAL POSTER. They must be registered on the approved "commercial posters" page.

If a member wants to be able to reference their own product in a REPLY to a post, they should submit to me and global moderatores a short and concise description of the product that pertains to the Zumo. We will review it and either approve it for our approved list or disapprove it...which disallows mentioning their product on the ZumoForums website.

Commercial businesses cannot include in their posts their commercial website as part of their signature. In other words if every post they make has their website URL...that is a NO NO.

I will begin a separate page for Members Products to list their products...but this will serve two purposes, first it will allow them to ANSWER questions that pertain to their products(s) without their reply being deleted or edited.

We reserve the right and power to remove any post that is too overtly commercial.
There you go...give me your feedback. I think I will go ahead and make a Members Product page.

Backup your Garmin Zumo

With your Zumo hooked up to your computer, navigate to the GARMIN drive and copy the entire garmin folder to your computer. Depending on your location, you will have a folder with between 0.5 GB and 1.2 GB of data. If you need to restore, it should be as simple as just copying it back to the Zumo.

Here is a recent test by ECM:

Made full back up with windows explorer
Deleted ALL the files on the zumo (entire Garmin folder)
Restarted the zumo-still works, but no maps or language
Firmware still reads 3.30
Reloaded the backup file

All is well and working fine. No problems at all
Nor did I expect any...So : Tested with success. Restore works fine.
